Laudrick Health Warranty
All of our puppies are in apparent good health and free from visible signs of infection and contagious or communicable diseases when purchased. Because all vaccination doesn’t always take effect and cover pup against disease, Buyer has 72 hours from the time of delivery/pickup to have a vet check done on said puppy and have it placed on a schedule to continue immunizations and health care. Vet check must be done by a licensed veterinarian and Buyer assumes all responsibility for any veterinarian bills. If buyer fails to have vet check done within 72 hours or fails to continue puppy’s health care, the parties agree that any guarantee will be considered null and void (please keep copy of vet records.). If the pup is found to be in poor health, diagnosed by a licensed vet and the proper paperwork is sent to Laudrick, the pup will be replaced with one of equal value, at the Seller’s discretion, from the next available litter. Our health warranty does not include any Parasite, internal or external, as this is a treatable and common condition.
Within 7 days of Purchase
If your puppy is returned for any reason other than an accident within 3 days of purchase we will take the puppy back and refund 75% of the purchase price.
Lifetime Genetic Health Guarantee
If your puppy is diagnosed by a suitably qualified veterinarian as having a life-threatening defect of certain congenital/genetic origin and which is serious enough to prevent the animal from fulfilling its represented role of companion to the Buyer, we will replace the puppy with one of equal or greater value.
The seller must be contacted and the dog returned at owner’s expense for consideration of replacement. Registration papers with signed transfer back to breeder must accompany the dog. Buyer must provide veterinarian records showing the dog is up to date on all vaccinations and must be heart-worm free (tested within past 10 days by licensed vet). Buyer agrees that all shipping and transportation costs of replacement pup are their responsibility and no puppy/dog will be shipped without these costs being remitted to shipper (airline or ground transport) or to the Breeder. Only genetic disease or defects will be considered and each case will be dealt with individually. There is no cash refund and seller will not refund monies for veterinary expenses, etc. There is no other implied contract other than this instrument.
We reserve the right to require a second opinion from a veterinarian of our choice at our expense. If the puppy is euthanized or in any way disposed of, without a second opinion from the seller’s veterinarian, the buyer waives all rights to a refund.
Note: This warranty is void in the event of an undetermined or inconclusive diagnosis. Diseases of likely environmental origin (likely to be caused by suboptimal diet, chemicals, or trauma) are not covered.
If your puppy dies and you request a refund, you must have a necropsy performed by a suitably qualified veterinarian at your expense to determine the cause of death. Your puppy will be refunded if the death was caused by a genetic problem or an illness which your puppy had at the time of purchase. For this reason, it is advisable to have your puppy checked by your own veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase.
For the long-term health of your puppy, we recommend a diet containing at least 20% raw meaty bones, minimal exposure to food additives, and de-sexing at 12-24 months of age. We also recommend minimizing exposure to veterinary drugs (such as flea and heartworm treatments, vaccinations and wormers) to the minimum dosage and frequency needed to safeguard your pet’s health. We prefer the older medications of Sentinel and Interceptor use in Aussies as well as nontoxic herbal remedies.
**Note: For Lifetime Health Guarantee to be in force, the puppy needs to remain on Nu-Vet supplement and TLC dog food with proof of purchase provided. This ensures that the puppy has had the best chance to overcome any environment factors that could affect its health.
SHIPPING:
If puppy/dog is shipped to Buyer, the Breeder cannot be held responsible for something that is out of their control, as with placing the care and control of the puppy/dog with an airline or ground shipper. The Buyer understands that once the puppy/dog has been delivered to the airport or ground hauler, the Breeder is no longer responsible for its safety, health or well-being. The Buyer understands that it is the Buyer’s choice to have the puppy/dog shipped and that he/she is solely responsible for any problems incurred during shipping or after. The Breeder strongly encourages the Buyer to check the puppy/dog at the airport and report any injuries or health problems noted, contact the proper airline authority for concerns immediately.
USE OF DOG:
It is agreed between Seller and Buyer that this dog is being acquired as a companion, show or working prospect to be used for tasks appropriate to its breed. These tasks may include search and rescue, therapy, obedience, Frisbee, fly-ball, tracking, agility or show competition
The dog is not being purchased for resale nor will it be used or trained for activities which are illegal or for which it is not suited by reason of temperament or conformation. Specifically, it will not be used as a guard or attack dog, to hunt or fight other animals, or used in scientific experimental research.
Trial/Working Dogs/Show Prospects:
The Breeder will use her best judgment in evaluating the working, show potential or pet quality status of the represented dog. Due to the numerous circumstances involved, and since the Breeder cannot guarantee how the Buyer will handle, raise, manage, maintain a puppy/dog, the Breeder will not guarantee that a “Trial, Show or Herding Prospect” dog or pup will be successful in the ring as an adult and no warranties are made to that effect. The Breeder does encourage the Buyer to seek and participate in positive-method training clinics for the purpose of herding dogs on livestock or trial clinics to assist and mentor the Buyer in preparing and exhibiting dogs which are evaluated to possess those qualities.
SPAY/NEUTERING: N/A
For dogs purchased solely as family companions, the Breeder strongly recommends spay/neutering at 12 to 24 months of age to allow bones and hormones to fully develop. There is definite evidence that the chance of some cancers appearing lessens with neutering done after one year old. Limited registration is offered on our pups, meaning nonbreeding. If breeding rights are desired, a discussion with the Breeder is required before purchase and Breeder must agree to full registration.
REGISTRATION:
All Laudrick pups are registerable with American Kennel Club (AKC) or American Stock Dog Registry (ASDR). The Breeder reserves the right to affix the Laudrick’s kennel name before a registry name for the dog. Breeding rights and full registration are negotiable on an individual basis. No Laudrick Australian Shepherds or any offspring shall be permitted to be registered as any other breed of dog. In the event someone would try to register their Laudrick Aussie as any other breed whether by taking it to a different registry, trying to change its name or trying to falsify papers, there will be a $250,000 fine.
OWNERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Buyer agrees to maintain the dog in a humane environment and properly train and care for the dog. The Buyer agrees to continue pup on TLC Whole Life food and Nu-Vet supplement to continue this warranty's protection of this puppy.
Collie-type dogs can be sensitive to Ivermectin products, which can sometimes cause fatal results. The Breeder strongly suggests no use of these products under any circumstances either by liquid, orally or injection as a means of heartworm preventative. The Breeder suggests the use of Interceptor as a means of heartworm prevention.
Lifetime Rehoming Guarantee
Your puppy also has a lifetime rehoming guarantee with us, so should you have an inability to care for him or her in the future, you can contact us at any stage of your puppy's life. Under no circumstances must your puppy ever be given up to a shelter.
The Buyer agrees that the dog will not be allowed to roam and will be confined in a secure fenced area when unattended.
